High UGR performance on new kit solution – loved by Architects.

The optical lighting solution for Yoyo luminaire is delivered in a pre-assembled kit from our cleanroom to Focus Lighting.

We have in close cooperation with the R&D department from Focus Lighting supported the development of the new luminaire series – Yoyo. To fulfill the product specification in terms of technical specs and aesthetic appearance, the choice became a kit solution. It started with a request from the developer, who was challenged on the right UGR. And we come up with the kit solution, which fulfilled the demands for Yoyo. The Yoyo is available in two diffuser variants – Micro prismatic and Opal.

The kitting solutions consist of different components:
Opal version consists of three parts: Reflective film, LGP and Opal LED Diffuser film.
Micro prismatic version consists of four parts: Reflective film, LGP, Opal LED Diffuser film and MicroPrism.

In the Micro prismatic version there are no visible micro prismatic patterns on the surface and high UGR. Which makes it suitable to use close to people for example on the wall in hallways and ceilings – e.g office areas.

The optical components are delivered in a clean and illuminated tested pre-packed kit solution. In this way, we help our customers save time in production with fewer touchpoints and ensure high quality without the risk of scratches and wrong assembly. It is very important not only to assemble them in the correct order and that they turn correctly in relation to how the light comes out of the luminaire. The saving for this service can in the end avoid claims at the end-user and prevent a stop in the production flow.

About the product

The floating elegance will be emphasized by the optional up-light/back-light on ceiling or wall. Due to the recessed diffusor, light is grazing at the inner curve and is experienced comfortable and non-glaring.

Prismatic or opal shade
The opal shade offers a pleasant and diffuse light distribution. The prismatic shade results in a precisely defined light distribution with low UGR.

“In the micro prismatic version – we really have a state-of-the-art optical solution, and when I have shown it to our customers – especially the Architects, they love the kit solution in the micro prismatic prism without the visual patterns, which they haven´t seen earlier. And it appears opal with or without light inside” says Ralf Ritter, Lighting consultant – Focus Lighting.

About the components

Reflective films
The use of reflective films to improve the efficiency of the lamp has over the last years increased significantly. These reflective films are in many cases replacing reflective aluminum, as they often are cheaper and easier to customize.

The excellent light reflecting performance often reduces the number of light sources needed and makes significant contributions to power conservation. Furthermore, the reflectors can perform both diffuse and specular reflectance.

These films come in different thicknesses, with/without adhesive and all have a total reflectance of more than 97%.

Light guide plates
Edge-lit luminaires are claimed to be the future of office lighting. From the initial start of the light guide technology, we have been fascinated by the technology which offers lighting manufacturers new opportunities for designing modern, innovative and efficient luminaires.

A light guide is a slim edge-lit lighting unit with a micro-structured surface that ensures a uniform appearance and high efficiency while directing the light in a specified direction.

ADVANTAGES
Uniform appearance and high efficiency
Targeted light distribution
Minimized thickness
Finest structure pattern

Structure types and patterns can be specified in a variety of shapes, densities, sizes, angles, and depth. For example, it’s possible to target the light output to illuminate a defined area or create a cutoff of the beam angle.

Opal LED Diffuser films
Whether you are looking for a clear polycarbonate material (PC) or an advanced LED diffusive PC, Ingemann Components’ department of Lighting and Optics offers a variety of profound options. Through our comprehensive network of suppliers and many years in the lighting components industry, we can assist you in finding the most suitable product for your specific application. We realize the importance of hiding the LED light source, getting the highest light output – all without compromising building regulations when developing a new luminaire.

Our diffusion films are mainly used in the design of power-efficient LED lighting systems, where good illumination angles combined with high light transmission are key.

We also offer versatile processing of the materials in both 3 and 5 axis milling machines and advanced laser cutters.

ABOUT FOCUS LIGHTING

Founded in Denmark in 1975, Focus Lighting has gained a profound knowledge of lighting solutions to public and private entrepreneurs.

The Focus luminaires are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, i.e. LED and the possibility of intelligent lighting control. Focus Lighting develops the luminaires in their own laboratory, and, being a small and flexible organization, they benefit from a short and flexible developing process. Focus Lighting is able to execute measurements and tests necessary for implementing new technology in-house. Optimization and product development is constantly ongoing process.

They manufacture luminaires upon order and can quickly adjust to the exact customer specification. The assembly is carried out in own premises in Denmark, enabling them to offer short delivery times. They cooperate closely with primary suppliers, most of which are located in Denmark, and they contribute to securing the high quality which has been the cornerstone of Focus Lighting brand throughout more than 40 years in business.
