Proud winner of Initiative Award 2020

The Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) at Roskilde and Køge Bugt has chosen Ingemann Components as the winner of the Initiative Award 2020.

Ingemann receives award

The smiles were broad when Director, Dorthe Hillerup Vedsted and Chairman of the board, Niels Ingemann Møller received the Initiative Award from Køge’s Mayor, Marie Stærke and representatives from DI.

“Ingemann Components has made an important strategic decision on investing in increased specialization and know-how to ensure profitability. It’s a good example of a company from our local area who meets the customers’ need for thorough technical knowledge and understanding of new trends in the market,” says Carsten K. Jensen, Chairman at DI Roskilde and Køge Bugt.

Ingemann Components A/S produces specialized solutions for the lighting industry in Northern Europe. The last couple of years, the company has extended and specialized its offerings by investing in advanced technology and in hiring highly educated optical lighting specialists. These initiatives have resulted in yearly growth rates of 12-18 percentage.

Today, the company focuses on developing new optical lighting solutions in close cooperation with the customers. As an example, Ingemann Components has invested in a light lab for validation of technical solutions, which allows them to push the boundaries of feasible optical lighting solutions.

“It’s a huge honor for us to receive this award. It’s fantastic to be recognized for our efforts, and we look forward to continuing our efforts in adapting to market needs and extending our activities beyond Northern Europe,” says Dorthe Hillerup Vedsted, Director at Ingemann Components.

Ingemann Components’ success in gaining a foothold on the Northern European markets was emphasized by the committee who invited for a closer dialogue to inspire other companies in the area.

Swift transformation to face shield production

When the Corona pandemic reached Denmark in March 2020, Ingemann Components quickly gathered all employees and converted available production capacity to produce face shields for the health sector. Today, the company continues to produce face shields, along with its core production of specialized optical lighting solutions.

By acting agilely, Ingemann Components has managed to keep its revenue during the pandemic, while investing in sustainability, marketing, and online presence to prepare for the post-Corona agenda.
